Boston Terrier
The Boston Terrier is, of course, an American dog and is a cross between a British Bulldog and a white English terrier. The Boston Terrier Club of America was formed in 1891 and the breed was accepted by the American Kennel Club in 1893. Despite being classified with the Terrier group, this dog, with its surprising physique, looks much more like a miniature mastiff, with its flat face, pointed ears and short, smooth coat. The blood of many breeds runs in its veins, giving it a distinctive personality. It has none of the usual hunting instinct of the terrier group but is a dog that loves to play with children and adults alike. Not at all aggressive, it is comfortable living in a small space and is a home in the city or the country. More of a toy dog than a terrier, it is a perfect pet.
The Boston Terrier is from 25-43cm (10-17inches) in height. Weight is 7-12.5kg (15-27pounds). The coat is fine, short and shiny, black and white in color or brindle with white patches.
