Commercial Dog Foods Poisonous to Dogs

In the age of instant gratification and rampant consumerism along with busy lifestyles demanding working environments and complex relationships we tend to take a few things for grant like the food we feed our canine buddies. Commercial dog foods look great on the TV, appetising, quite cheap and easy to grab off the shelf but little do we realise that these are foods poisonous to dogs! Thats right, food poisonous to dogs even though they are labeled dog food.
Why is this? Just like every product in our modern society companies try to make the most money out of them, this is not a crime but the steps companies take to lower costs can be. Firstly many companies get their dog foods made in China and India where labour is cheap and while the the standards are set by the owning company the standards offshore can easily drop and a few unscrupulous managers can cut costs to line their own pockets; what does this mean for anxious pet owners though?
The upshot of cost cutting by dog food companies is a decrease in the quality of food, less nutrients from poor "filler" ingredients which can lead to disease and malnutrition. Not only this but many can actually be toxic and become foods poisonous to dogs in a much quicker and more lethal way.
So what are a dog owners options? Researching your brand of pet food very well is a good start but if you really want to help your canine friend you can make your own dog food avoiding foods poisonous to dogs and giving them grat nutrition and a much much longer lifespan.
